WebSmarts
By combining SYN’s multimedia platforms of radio, television and the web, the WebSmarts project gives SYN programmers a chance to talk about how young people interact with each other online.
The project commissions SYN volunteers to create a series of radio and television programs that tap into mainstream debates like Internet filtering, but also cover themes that receive scant coverage in the media. SYN volunteers are creating educational multimedia resources on issues as varied as social networking habits, illegal downloading and online bullying.
Through WebSmarts, SYN volunteers are using their digital media making skills to discuss their thoughts and concerns about mitigating the online world.
Radio packages created for the WebSmarts Project:
Online legal issues
Social networking
Internet crime
Online communities
Same-sex attracted youth online
